IES Senior/Student Club Bulletin – 14 April 2021

Great to be back!

It was wonderful to see so many club members back on the pitch last week, over 200 of you in total. We hope for an even greater turnout over the next few weeks, at one of the remaining Wednesday evening sessions, or playing summer league in May and June or at a Sunday morning junior session.

Membership Fees 2020/21

Due to the pandemic and associated factors beyond the club’s control, the recent winter league season was significantly restricted. Whilst we have extended the normal season by arranging additional training and intra club matches during April, the inevitable question has arisen as to ‘fair value’, for those who paid a full club annual subscription, as either a Senior Member or a Student Member.

The club committee is aware of the significant impact on our members and having considered all the facts, figures and financial implications have decided to reset the full subscriptions to £60 (Senior) and £30 (Student) for 2020-21. This means that members who have elected to pay a half subscription have no further payment to make and those who have paid a full subscription will receive a ‘credit note’ for the due rebate towards a 2021-22 subscription or a cash rebate if specifically requested.

All at the club work hard each year to try and ensure that we set a balanced budget and offer good value for money for our members and families. These ‘credit notes’ will be funded from our reserves; you may decide that you are happy to waive your ‘credit note’ and make a donation to the club – if this is the case, please do let us know and we will make sure this is clearly noted.

A more detailed summary of the financial position is available on request.  If you would like to discuss any aspects of club membership or indeed any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact Chairman Charlie Farrow.

SAVE THE DATE – Charity Hockey Day Sat 3 July

Subject to the envisaged loosening of Covid restrictions, the club will go ahead with the Annual Charity Hockey day on Saturday 3 July (running 11am – 5pm approx.).  The day will feature the usual mixed hockey tournament (for over 13s) and junior hockey activity including the exciting addition of a Coaching Masterclass.

All members, their families and friends are invited to attend. There will be a bar, barbecue and lots of fun activities including a bouncy castle for younger children. Further details to be announced in the near future.
