Training

Pre-season training, August 2017, is run at Ipswich School Sports Centre (ISSC), ‘Rushmere’, on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Further details/timings will be circulated via email and social media.

For the ‘regular’ season starting in September 2017, Outdoor Club training is organised as listed below.

(Please note that the midweek training session is Free to paid-up members who are also paying regular match fees, from 1st September 2017. Otherwise, a £2 training fee is due from those attending who are ‘occasionals’ or not members of the club).

Ladies senior training (from age 13): –
Ladies 3s and 4s – Wednesdays 7pm-8pm
Ladies 1s and 2s – Wednesdays 8pm-9.30pm

Mens senior training (from age 14): – Split as follows:
1st X1 squad, 2nd X1 squad, Wednesdays, 7.00pm – 9.00pm, at Rushmere
3rd X1 – 6th X1 squads, Tuesdays, 7.30pm – 9.00pm, at Rushmere

In all cases, please arrive 15 minutes before the session is due to start to warm up and get ready.

Senior training is subject to a Christmas/New Year break and will cease for the season by the last week of March 2018 – unless there are ‘significant’ league slip games to play, when the training may be extended for a further period.

Junior Boys & Girls training (age 6 – 14 approx): Sunday mornings 09.30am – 12.00 at Ipswich School Sports Centre, (IP5 1DE), on an artificial pitch. (Charges and organisational structure are to be announced. Please refer to the club web site or mail enquiries to the Head Coach, Tony Burch).

Some of the Junior sessions are devoted to age-group matches against other clubs and schools, which may mean the start time and finish time are changed. Refer also to the Junior pages on the Club’s web site.

Prospective Members are encouraged to come along to the Senior Ladies and Mens training sessions or Sunday (Junior) sessions to get acquainted with the Club and express an interest in joining. A call or mail to any member of the Club committee in advance would be welcome, so details can be taken prior to attendance. Refer below:

* Please keep an eye on the club’s web site, because information about training sessions is published from time to time. In particular, if training has to be cancelled for reasons of bad weather, it may be broadcast in this way.
