Welcome To the IESHC Junior Section (Last update: 24th July 2010)
IES Hockey Club is committed to:- Providing a structured programme of qualified coaching and competitive games for young people. Ensuring equal opportunities regardless of age, gender, ability or background. Developing individual skills and to offer children the opportunity to progress at whatever level is appropriate. Encouraging young people to contribute to the running of their club and to offer a safe and fun environment at all times. In support of this, the club is registered for and working towards Sport England's accreditation scheme otherwise known as Clubmark. The criteria for Clubs is split into 4 areas of: Duty of care and child protection The playing programme Sports equity and ethics Club management Junior Club Training (2010-2011) Junior Boys & Girls training (age 6 - 14 approx): Sunday mornings 10.30am - 12.00 at Copleston School, off Britannia Road, Ipswich on the artificial pitch, starting 5th September 2010. (Charge, £1 per training session or per match). Some of the Junior sessions are devoted to age-group matches against other clubs and schools, which may mean the start time and finish time are changed. Refer also to the Club's Junior webpage, for further details. Prospective Members are encouraged to come along to the Sunday (junior) sessions to get acquainted with the Club and express an interest in joining. A call or mail to the Liaison Officer or Head Coach in advance would be welcome, so details can be taken in advance. Please keep an eye on the club's web site, because information about training sessions is published from time to time. In particular, if training has to be cancelled for reasons of bad weather, it can only be broadcast in this way. New Players Are Always Welcome
