12-12-09 St Neots Men's 1st XI 1 v IES Men's 1st XI 7

December 15, 2009
IES travelled to St Neots this week who were rooted to the foot of the table which is some what of a surprise after they had been relegated the season before. IES were looking to put things right after a poor performance the previous week and take all three points home with them.

The game started well for IES who took the game to St Neots moving the ball well and breaking down the St Neots defence to create a number of chances which were taken well, however we could have had many more goals but missed chances stopped that. By half time IES were 4-0 up and there keeper had a quiet half.

The second half started much the same and IES continued to dominate the game, however St Neots did manage to get a consolation goal but IES struck back straight away and then push on to score two further goals.

This was a good team performance away from home and it has secured them a mid-table position during the Christmas break, but we need to continue to improve in the New Year and now that they have set a standard they will be looking to move forward from this point.

05-12-09 Felixstowe Men's 1st XI 9 v IES Men's 1st XI 3

December 7, 2009
IES lost in their biggest defeat of the season after what started out as a pretty even game, IES were moving the ball well but it was their defending that let them down this week. They are great when they are going forward but we need to stop conceding also, so far we have been score more than we have been conceding but they must defend better to keep them in the top half of the table.

With the score 5-2 at half time they should have pushed on and took the game to Felixstowe but instead they l...

November 6, 2009
IES travelled to Dereham looking to make up for last week, however Dereham are a good team and we will need to be at our best to be able to compete with them. IES looked to be half asleep after the long journey to Norfolk, Dereham took advantage of this and took the lead. IES need to raise there game and compete in the middle of the park and as they pushed forward looking for the equaliser Dereham counter attacked and slotted the ball home to take a two goal advantage.
