IES men's 1st XI entertained Ely City this week looking to turn a corner and return to winning ways after two defeats in two weeks recently. IES started the game well moving the ball with pace looking to create opportunities but they could not retain the ball well enough and it was Ely who struck first, all credit to IES who continued to play some good hockey at times but were not able to create any end product. IES were caught on the break again after pushing forward looking for the equaliser and this seemed to be the story of the afternoon.

This was not one of our best performances this season and we need to return to winning ways to build our confidence again, after starting so well early in the season we know we are trying to play the right way but we must defend better as a team.

Market Deeping at home next week and lets hope we can put it right this week.
