IESHC 1st men took on local rivals Sudbury 1st which has always proved to be a close game in the past and with both team still unbeaten this season today’s game was not going to be any different or was it! IES started the game slow which Sudbury capitalised on and took the lead but it was not long before Francis went on one of his mazy runs and some how found himself in the D to score the equaliser. IES started to pick up the pace and moved the ball better this was creating a number of chances and it was not long before they took the lead to make it 2-1 at half time.
After the half time team talk IES came out of the block firing on all cylinders taking the game to Sudbury, they moved the ball quick and the supporting play and movement was key to the second half and this allowed IES to take control of the game. IES not only created chance but they were finishing them to with some very well worked goals with goals from all areas of the pitch. IES scored 4 further gaols with Sudbury only scoring 1.
Goals from Scott Cole x 2, James Howe x 2, Jon Tingey, Peter Francis
This was another good team performance and we are improving with each game, we still have areas to work on but we continue to move in the right direction.
Away to UEA next week who are at the foot of the table but we will have to work hard to ensure all 3 points.
