IES men's first XI travelled to Norwich to play a UEA team who were struggling to score goals this season and needed to take all three points with them back down the A140.
The game started well for IES who looked bright and were moving the ball around with confidence, it was not long before chances were created and the goals started to follow.

10-10-09 IESHC 1st Mens XI 6 v Sudbury 1st Mens XI 2

IESHC 1st men took on local rivals Sudbury 1st which has always proved to be a close game in the past and with both team still unbeaten this season today’s game was not going to be any different or was it! IES started the game slow which Sudbury capitalised on and took the lead but it was not long before Francis went on one of his mazy runs and some how found himself in the D to score the equaliser. 03-10-09 March Town 1st XI 3 v IES Men's 1st XI 3

IES men's 1st team travelled across the fens for there first league away game against March Town who also won there first league game of the season.
This is always a difficult fixture as it proved to be, IES travelled with 11 men and on the back of a fantastic performance were looking for another three points.
