IESHC Men took on Ipswich 2nd XI at Henley Rd in a midweek friendly, this was another good challenge for the team with Ipswich playing in Prem B this season.
The game started well for IES and they moved the ball around well using all of the pitch, the match was pretty much even with both teams creating opportunities but unable to convert them. It was not until a well worked free hit that was driven into the D for Tingey to deflect into the goal for IES to take the lead.
The game continued to be evenly matched but Ipswich were awarded a short corner which was driven into the corner to make the scores even.
The second half was much the same with both team playing some good hockey but the defences worked hard to keep the score line even at full time.
This was another good team performance and we are making good progress, with one more friendly to go against Colchester 1st XI on Saturday a win would set us up nicely for the start of the season.
