Men's Pre-season Fitness Training July 29th

Gents,

Have you been piling on the pounds during the summer break?
Are you in need of a physical work out?
Do you seek the physic you have always desired?

Then come along to Pettit's work out on Thursdays at Rushmere, these session will start July 29th 7:30pm - 9pm and will be held on the grass.

No stick required, just trainers, energy and plenty of drink..........

Ladies pre-season training

Two pre-season training sessions have been arranged to take place at Copleston 7pm to 8.30pm on the following dates:

Wednesday 18th August

Wednesday 25th August.

No doubt we will all be a little rusty after the summer break so come along and brush up on your fitness and skills work!

Ladies Summer Socials

Calling all ladies! Come and join in with some summer games at Rushmere!

There will be four sessions beginning this Wednesday 21st July at 7pm, with activities planned for the following three weeks; Wed 28th July, Wed 4th Aug and finally Wed 11th Aug.

Don't worry these are not fitness or skills sessions, they are just an opportunity to get together, play some different games and have some fun.

8:30pm Indoor hockey (£2.50),

Please bring white, blue & red tops so that we can organise teams, indoor stick also required.

Richard Gray Memorial Tournament

A big thank you to all those IES members and the guest teams from Ipswich and Felixstowe HCs, who contributed donations totalling £605 after the event on June 6th.

This sum will be passed in full to the Breast Cancer Care charity, nominated by Richard’s family.

We should also like to acknowledge with thanks the provision of the Tuddenham Road pitch for the day, free of charge, by Ipswich Sports Club.

Level 1 Umpire Courses - June 2010

Then come along to the Suffolk Level 1 Umpire Award and develop your umpiring skills.

Wednesday 9th June - The future of IES and Rushmere Sports Club

All,

Rushmere sports club needs our help. If we want to see that new astro and changing facilities etc at Rushmere then we need to show our support.

As mentioned at our AGM last week, we need to be seen to support the club through its development proposals. The first event/evening where our support will be most welcome is on the 9th June. (Peter Elsom said the 8th at our AGM it his however the 9th)

The parish council are meeting at the club on this evening and it is important that the club gives the right impression of being a vibrant environment.

We have therefore booked the use of a 5 a side football pitch (on the grass) for the evening 7pm onwards. This is the week the world cup starts so let see what skills we have in our club! Just turn up and we will arrange side on arrival.

The bar will be open for drinks after, look forward to seeing you there.

About Us

Ipswich & East Suffolk Hockey Club are looking for new players to join our Men's, Ladies & Junior’s sections. We cater for a wide range of abilities and skill levels across the club, running 4 men's teams playing in East Divisions 2N, 4NE, 5NE, 6NE & 2 Ladies teams playing in East Division 1N & Suffolk Premier League. We also run a Junior (age 8 - 13) section at the club and also play summer league, indoor and mixed hockey during the year.

Players Required

We are a competitive yet social club looking for enthusiastic players of a wide range of abilities to strengthen the 7 squads with the aim of gaining promotion for most of the teams this forthcoming season. We are also looking for more youth players for our Junior section.

At IESHC we always welcome new players & you’re welcome to take a look around our website. If you would like to attend training or come along to a game or social event or if you are interested in playing or for further information then please get in touch with us.

Club membership and participation in hockey activities requires payment of the club's subscription, training and match fees.

Richard Gray Memorial Tournament 6th June 2010

This years Richard Gray Memorial Tournament will be held at Tuddenham Road on Sunday 6th June 2010, we have the pitch from 10am - 5pm and the tournament will follow the same format as last year.

We have at least 5 teams for the Richard Gray Tournament and the Captains / teams are:

James Nayler

If you don't have a team please contact one of the above or turn up on the day and we will find you a team.

Teams need to meet at 9:30 for a 10am start.

All proceeds will be made to Breast Cancer Care as nominated by Richard’s family.
