Why not join the Mighty Mallards on tour in the lovely North Devon town of Barnstaple?Arrive
Friday set up camp, have a "few" beers, followed by a choice of Indian
or Chinese, both less than 100yds away or cook on site. Perhaps a
pleasant stroll down the river Taw or visit the town itself, even have
a "few" more beers! Or check out the disco and entertainment provided
in the sports hall. There are three tournaments, Men's, Mixed and LadiesThe
hockey, on grass and astro, starts Saturday morning and goes on all day
'til about 5pm. There is a themed disco Saturday evening with Fancy
Dress optional and even dress optional from some reports! The local
pub serving good ale is less than 100yds away too! (Next door to the
Chinese and Indian retail outlets)Hockey
resumes on Sunday am, with semi finals and finals around tea time.
Trophies are presented, and then you can leave or stay until Monday,
which will mean another round of beers no doubt!Last
year this all came to the sum of £50 (excluding Beer and Curry money
but we did have egg and bacon rolls served first thing by a club
supporter) and included the tour shirt and socks, sombrero and
maracas! Even the toilets were cleaned out regularly as well! What
could be better as the English Summer wanes ......If
