Ipswich - East Suffolk (IES) HC Junior Section has been awarded £500 by the BT Community Champions award scheme thanks to the voluntary work of Chris Hatch, a BT employee. Run by BT’s corporate responsibility unit, BT Community Champions awards BT people with funding on behalf of local community groups, charities and organisations where they work on a voluntary basis.
Chris is delighted to be able to acknowledge that the BT Community Champions award scheme provides a great opportunity for community groups like IESHC Juniors to develop its opportunities for young players – and that every contribution makes a significant difference. The hockey goalkeeping equipment and general coaching support equipment for the juniors, that the club is now able to purchase from the award, will have a significantly positive impact on the activities run for the ‘Juniors’ by the club. By association, it is also very positive that BT recognises the voluntary work of its people and supports the charity sector in this way.”
