IES Juniors offers affordable hockey to young people of any ability aged 6 to 12 years. Whether you are just starting out in the sport or have been playing for years, we have training and match play opportunities to suit everyone.

Training 2023-24

Training takes place at Ipswich School Sports Centre, Rushmere every Sunday from September to May.

U8, U10, U12 - 09.30-11.00 (Boys and Girls)

Our sections are based on school years, so U8 are Year 3 and below, U10 are Year 4 and 5, U12 are Year 6 and 7. U14s in Years 8 and 9 are welcome to join the U12 sessions, but also train on Tuesday evenings 7.30-9pm with our adult section.

Coaches

We have a mix of adult coaches and young leaders for each age group, so that we can offer different training focuses depending on the age and experience of players.

Equipment

Your child will need shin pads and a gum shield to play hockey; we have some hockey sticks available to borrow each week if you don't have one to start with. We train outside, so please come dressed for the weather, with trainers or astroturf shoes.

Costs

There is a weekly training fee of £3 per child. The yearly membership subscription is £70 per child, with sibling discounts available.
